Searching for things to do in London will always bring up activities in the City. The restaurant district on Cheapside, Lombard Street, and Leadenhall Street welcomes people looking for all kinds of dining experiences, One New Change by St Paul’s Cathedral offers excellent fashion outlets, and live music venues can be found throughout the city. There are also a variety of bars, nightclubs, gyms, and buildings offering spectacular views and one-off events such as Sky Garden. 

If the attractions in the City of London aren’t enough, you have the whole of London to explore easily via public transport or even by bike or foot.

Local amenities in the City of London

It’s no surprise that the City of London is one of the most well connected areas of London. There are 11 Underground stations that link you to District, Circle, Central, Waterloo and City, and Northern Lines. Canary Wharf, mainline stations, and airports are within easy reach.

You won’t find large supermarkets here, but there are places to get essentials such as Tesco Express and Sainsbury’s local. You’ll also be able to buy meat, fish, oil, cheese, bread and more from the historic Smithfield Market, between Barbican and Farringdon, held every weekday.
